Warcraft: Forever History · In-game companion
Discover why the places you visit, the people you meet, and the conflicts you hear about matter—through a richly illustrated history reader designed to accompany you in-game.
Public addon download not yet available — development builds are not a public release.
A glimpse inside the chronicle
See the intended in-game reading experience through four detailed visual concepts. Each one starts with a moment you already know from playing Warcraft—traveling, meeting a character, exploring a region, or remembering a story.
01 · This Zone
Imagine opening your history journal while crossing the glades and learning how Lordaeron fell, who the Forsaken are, and why the ruins around you matter.
Turn time spent traveling into an opportunity to discover the lore beneath your feet.
Manual zone history browsing is the safe baseline; automatic zone discovery requires live-client testing.
02 · Target History
Follow the life of Sylvanas Windrunner, then continue to the Forsaken, Quel’Thalas, and the Scourge without having to remember what to search for later.
Connect characters, factions, and historical events as part of the same adventure.
Specific NPC detection and target-to-article matching must be verified before release.
03 · My Story
Picture a personal chronicle of zones explored, histories read, and discoveries made—so each session adds to a growing record of the stories you’ve experienced.
Give your adventures a lasting sense of discovery and progress beyond levels and equipment.
The development build has journal and tracking work; automatic triggers and persistence need client QA.
04 · Atlas
Use a map-led entry point to browse a region, open its history, and follow connected places—from Mulgore to other corners of Azeroth.
A searchable historical atlas makes wandering and downtime a natural part of learning Warcraft lore.
The map shown is conceptual; actual addon map controls and zone geometry need client validation.
These visuals depict the approved design direction, not the current playable addon. Layout, tracking, map interactions and automatic recognition shown in concepts may change or remain unavailable until verified in the Warcraft: Forever client.
Azeroth is more than a map
Designed for the moments between battles—not a quest guide, not a replacement for playing, and not another website you have to keep open.
Browse the background of zones and landmarks from the in-game archive. Discover why the places around you matter.
Look up known characters, factions, and races through the addon reader. Target-name matching and game-client recognition remain under verification.
Continue from one historical article to another through existing in-text links and curated reading collections, without breaking your adventure.
The development build includes personal discovery tracking, reading progress, achievements, and observed quest and level journals. Live-client behavior must still be validated.
Built for the moments between battles
You don't have to stop playing to follow a story. Pick up an article whenever the adventure gives you a moment.
Running toward your next quest? Browse the history of your current region and discover how its past shaped the world around you.
See a familiar name or faction? Look it up through the archive and follow linked subjects to the larger story.
Revisit what you learned and build a journal of the places and histories encountered on your journey.
Questions before you join the journey
The website is ideal when you want to research a topic in depth. The addon is being developed to put that same connected historical archive within reach during gameplay—especially while traveling, waiting, or following a character's story.
No. Warcraft: Forever History is a discovery and storytelling companion, not a route optimizer or leveling guide. Its job is to add meaning to the world, not dictate your adventure.
Not yet verified. Manual history browsing is a safe starting point. NPC targeting, zone detection, first-visit prompts, and similar automatic features require testing on the release game client, with safe fallbacks when no reliable match exists.
Yes. The historical library includes settings beyond the playable map. The addon aims to make those stories discoverable without implying that every location can be reached in the world.
Only after an installable public build has been verified against the Warcraft: Forever launch client. The official release link will appear in the section below when that package is ready; the concept screens above are not evidence of a public release.
Bring the chronicle with you
The addon is in active development. The beta has ended, and final compatibility, saved-data behavior, and installation must be checked with the launch client before a public package is offered here.
Public download: not yet available. This page will provide the official package link once it is released.
When the public build is available, follow its included README: download the official archive, place the extracted addon folder in your Warcraft: Forever client's Interface/AddOns directory, then enable it through the game's addon interface. The exact folder name and final compatibility requirements will be supplied with the public release.
The world you can visit—and the world beyond it
Some stories are tied to places you can explore in Warcraft: Forever. Others lead to kingdoms, ancient wars, and distant settings you may only encounter through their history. The addon and website are designed to help you follow both kinds of stories without treating a historical location as a verified in-game destination.
Explore its historical importance through the archive—even when the story reaches beyond the zones on your current map.
Explore the original world
Browse mapped zones from the Warcraft: Forever Atlas. A linked history is not an automatic addon trigger or a verified NPC/map binding.
Discover history where you play
Select a location from Warcraft: Forever's original-world Atlas. Links open historical articles where a matching record exists; unmatched zones are not presented as verified histories.
40 zone histories available across 40 mapped zones
For everything beyond the zone directory
Search location histories including mapped zones, cities, ruins and places that are not represented as visitable zones. Records here are historical reading links, not verified in-game locations.
