Full History

The Summit of Eternity lies on Mount Hyjal, where the world tree Nordrassil was planted above the second Well of Eternity. That sacred summit stood at the center of night-elven life and druidic guardianship for thousands of years.

At the end of the Third War, Archimonde sought the power of Nordrassil. Malfurion Stormrage called upon the forest wisps to destroy the demon, a victory that cost the night elves the immortality bound to the world tree.

Forever reopens the mountain as a zone recovering from that battle. The named flight point at the summit belongs to the new gameplay era; the historical victory itself remains the older, established turning point.
