Quick Overview

Tiragarde Keep owes its presence on the coast of Durotar to the conflict between Thrall's New Horde and Admiral Daelin Proudmoore. The admiral brought Kul Tiran forces across the sea to attack the new orcish nation. Tiragarde belonged to that bitter aftermath of the Third War, when allies against the Legion could still become enemies over the wrongs of earlier generations.

Full History

Tiragarde Keep owes its presence on the coast of Durotar to the conflict between Thrall's New Horde and Admiral Daelin Proudmoore. After the Burning Legion's defeat at Mount Hyjal, the orcs sought to establish a homeland where they would no longer live as fugitives or prisoners. Daelin saw the same settlement as the return of a danger he had fought in the earlier wars.

The admiral brought Kul Tiran forces across the sea to attack the new orcish nation. His men occupied coastal positions and used them to threaten Thrall's young settlements. Jaina Proudmoore tried to avert a larger disaster, but her father's refusal to distinguish the New Horde from the armies of Gul'dan and Blackhand brought the conflict toward Theramore itself. Rexxar and the Horde's allies fought to defend Durotar.

Daelin's death ended the campaign, but not the memory of it. Tiragarde belonged to that bitter aftermath of the Third War, when allies against the Legion could still become enemies over the wrongs of earlier generations. Its ruined claim to Durotar was a consequence of a war that the orcs believed they had left behind.
