Full History

Brackenwall Village grew out of the New Horde's struggle to establish itself in Kalimdor. During the events surrounding the founding of Durotar, Rexxar helped bring the Stonemaul ogres into the Horde's alliance. Their strength mattered when the growing settlements faced danger from human forces and hostile neighbors.

The ogres had their own history of clan rule and internal conflict. Their acceptance into the new order did not turn them into orcs or erase their separate customs. Instead, the Stonemaul became another people whose fortunes were tied to Thrall's effort to build a coalition rather than recreate the old Horde's rule by conquest.

Brackenwall gave that relationship a place in the marshes of Dustwallow. The settlement belongs to the period after the Third War, when the Horde was establishing new communities while threats from the outside tested its alliances. It represented the practical consequence of Rexxar's diplomacy: a formidable clan with a foothold among the Horde's scattered settlements rather than an enemy standing apart.
