Full History
Brill once served the roads and farms of Tirisfal, close enough to Lordaeron's capital to share in the kingdom's settled life. Generations passed through its village streets under the protection of a crown whose soldiers had survived the Second War. That assurance collapsed when the plague took hold in the north.
The Scourge devastated the countryside and the capital beyond it. Villages that had depended upon Lordaeron's authority were left to the dead, while survivors fled or fell under the Lich King's control. After Sylvanas and her followers broke free of that domination, the Forsaken reclaimed settlements within Tirisfal, including Brill, as part of their effort to build a society of their own.
Brill was not restored to the way it had been before the catastrophe. The people now occupying its homes belonged to the ruined kingdom yet no longer lived as its subjects. Their struggle against remaining Scourge forces and the Scarlet Crusade made the village part of a new contest over who, if anyone, could inherit Lordaeron.
