Quick Overview
The rebuilt City of Dalaran is threatened by magical failures inside its own warded streets. In Forever, adventurers earn the Kirin Tor's trust, enter through the sewers, and investigate errant constructs and spells. This is a new instance within the separate Forever timeline, not proof that Dalaran stood fully restored in original patch 1.1. Its older history begins with the city's arcane scholarship and its devastation during the Third War.
Full History
For centuries Dalaran stood as a great center of human magic, governed by the Kirin Tor and sought by scholars who wished to master mysteries rarely seen outside its towers. That prestige made it dangerous as well as influential. During the Third War Arthas and the Scourge struck the city, Kel'Thuzad used the Book of Medivh to summon Archimonde, and the demon devastated the city's towers. In the original-era world, a protective magical dome over the ruins marked a city that had not simply returned to normal life.
Forever introduces a different immediate moment: restoration is far enough advanced for arcane accidents to threaten an inhabited city. Constructs run amok, enchantments misfire and energies spill into the thoroughfares. The Kirin Tor cannot treat the chaos as an ordinary monster hunt. Their own craft has become unreliable, and outsiders must prove trustworthy before gaining entry. The approach through sewers gives this story a fitting perspective, beginning below the splendor and working toward the source of the disruption.
The official dungeon description identifies faction-specific attunement quests but leaves the deeper cause of the crisis unrevealed. This separate entry links to the geographic Dalaran record, the Kirin Tor, and the Scourge's earlier sack of the city. It leaves the original patch 1.1 depiction untouched while inviting a later editorial update once Forever's dialogue has been directly checked.
