The Scarlet Monastery's armory grew in importance after the Crusade converted a place of worship and learning into a military fortress. The Scourge's destruction of Lordaeron had left survivors desperate for protection, and the Scarlet leaders promised that disciplined force could reclaim human lands from the undead.
Weapons and armor became central to that promise. Training soldiers within the monastery allowed the Crusade to organize its campaigns while keeping its forces apart from outsiders it regarded with suspicion. The same determination that sustained resistance to the Scourge also encouraged a harsh discipline in which doubt and mercy were increasingly difficult to express.
The armory was therefore one expression of the monastery's transformation. Where the institution had once cultivated religious learning, its leaders now prepared warriors for a conflict they understood as a test of purity as well as survival. The Scarlet Crusade did not merely inherit Lordaeron's grief. It fashioned that grief into a militarized order, and the armory served the needs of the cause its leaders had chosen.
