Full History
The defense of Ashenvale changed after the Burning Legion's defeat at Mount Hyjal. The night elves had fought beside humans and orcs to preserve the world, but the lands surrounding their forests remained threatened by lingering demonic influence and new disputes. The old divisions between armies could not explain every danger the survivors now faced.
Maestra's Post became connected with a small effort against the Cult of the Dark Strand. Delgren the Purifier worked alongside Balthule Shadowstrike and Feero Ironhand, bringing the resolve of a paladin into cooperation with night elf allies. Their enemies followed the influence of demonic power that had helped bring Kalimdor so close to ruin.
The outpost's story shows a less celebrated aftermath of the Third War. The great armies had fought on Mount Hyjal, but lesser groups still needed to resist those who clung to the Legion's influence. Their cooperation grew out of the war's necessity and continued after its decisive battle, when protecting Ashenvale meant confronting dangers that no single people could face alone.
