Full History

Shadowgale Forest is home to the Nightclaw Druids, an independent druidic tradition within Skyborne society. Its people share ancestry with those who fled Eldre’Thalas, but their practice connects them to a path that diverged from Highborne arcane dependence.

Druidic ideals spread in the aftermath of the War of the Ancients when followers of Malfurion sought a different relationship with nature. The Skyborne’s own recorded rebellion traditions recall how that alternative challenged the Highborne ruling order.

In Forever the Nightclaw operate independently of the island’s main political factions. The forest’s historical significance lies in preserving an alternative understanding of what the exiles could become, though specific events there still require quest-text review.
