Full History
Shadra'alor grew from the religious traditions of the forest trolls, whose settlements in the Hinterlands long predated the arrival of many younger kingdoms. The Amani had fought to retain their lands against the high elves and later joined the orcish Horde in the Second War. Even after those campaigns failed, the scattered forest troll tribes retained their own leaders, ceremonies and sacred places. The Witherbark held Shadra'alor among the centers of that inheritance.
The city was associated with Shadra, the spider loa revered by some of the forest trolls. Worship at the site preserved a connection between the tribe's political fortunes and a spiritual world that did not depend upon the victories of human or elven armies. The surviving Witherbark faced pressure from Wildhammer dwarves and rival troll groups, and the old imperial unity of the forest trolls remained broken. Yet the rites associated with Shadra still mattered to communities living amid those losses.
Shadra'alor's history is therefore more than the story of a contested settlement. It recalls a people whose sacred geography outlasted their ability to rule the surrounding lands. The tribe might lose wars or villages, but its religious memory remained bound to places that carried the names and reverence of its gods.
