Full History
Jintha'alor was a stronghold of the Vilebranch trolls in the Hinterlands, where the forest tribes carried on histories older than the human kingdoms around them. These trolls belonged to the wider Amani world, whose once-vast power had been broken by the wars against high elves and humans. Even after those defeats, individual tribes held fortified places and sacred grounds across the north.
The Vilebranch maintained their own leaders and rites rather than surrendering their identity to the kingdoms that grew on the edges of their lands. Jintha'alor became a center of that independence, but also of hostility toward outsiders. The same long memory of dispossession that shaped Amani resentment helped make the Hinterlands dangerous for travelers and rival peoples.
The stronghold did not restore the old troll empire. It showed how imperial collapse could leave behind enduring centers of tribal authority. From these places the trolls preserved customs, defended territory and resisted the political changes brought by the Alliance and Horde. Jintha'alor's history reaches beyond any single border skirmish into the long aftermath of the Troll Wars.
