Dolanaar was established on Teldrassil, a home the night elves created only after the Third War shattered their ancient confidence. At Mount Hyjal, the kaldorei had joined humans and orcs against Archimonde, but victory cost them the immortality they had known through Nordrassil. Fandral Staghelm pressed forward with a new world tree, hoping to restore what the sacrifice had taken.
Teldrassil's growth made settlement possible, but its creation was controversial among the night elves' own druids. Dolanaar developed among those new settlements, linking the tree's quieter communities with Darnassus and the older traditions of kaldorei instruction. The village belonged to a society trying to build a future after an age-defining loss, not to an untouched forest that had always sheltered night-elven homes.
The uncertainties surrounding Teldrassil also reached those who settled upon it. The new tree did not automatically restore the blessings of the old one, and corruption troubled parts of the emerging homeland. Dolanaar's story is one small chapter in that larger decision: the night elves chose to plant roots again even while the wisdom and consequences of their new refuge remained disputed.
