Full History
Fandral Staghelm became a powerful voice among the night elves after the Third War. At Mount Hyjal, the kaldorei had helped defeat Archimonde by sacrificing the blessings bound to Nordrassil. Their victory protected the world, but the night elves lost the immortality that had shaped their society since the Sundering. The question of how to live without it divided their leaders.
Fandral advocated growing another world tree. His ambition helped bring Teldrassil into being, raising a vast sanctuary off the coast of northern Kalimdor. The project offered a new home and the hope that the lost blessings might return, yet the new tree lacked the history and divine favor that had surrounded Nordrassil. Signs of imbalance challenged the belief that a second tree could simply replace the first.
His leadership reflected a genuine fear for the future of his people, but also a willingness to force an answer onto a crisis that had not been resolved. The night elves could not undo their sacrifice at Hyjal. Teldrassil became a living reminder of their determination to rebuild and of the dangers inherent in trying to restore an ancient order by command.
