Full History
Balnir Farmstead had once been part of Lordaeron's settled countryside, where generations of families cultivated the land beyond the capital. When the plague destroyed the kingdom, even farmsteads far from its most famous battles became casualties. The Balnir holding fell into ruin, and Scourge creatures continued to cross the countryside between Tirisfal and the blighted eastern lands.
The farm also held a more unusual legacy. Snapdragons growing in its garden proved sensitive to magical corruption, attracting the attention of the Forsaken's own spellcasters. They wanted to learn whether the taint spreading from the Plaguelands had reached Tirisfal itself. Plants that had once been part of ordinary cultivation became evidence in a grim effort to understand the consequences of the Scourge's magic.
The investigation connected the fate of one farm to the survival of a new undead kingdom. Forsaken leaders could not simply claim the ruins of Lordaeron and expect the land to sustain them. They needed to measure what had been poisoned, how far the damage extended, and whether the plague continued to advance. Balnir Farmstead stood at the boundary between the memory of a lost rural life and the urgent work of living with its destruction.
