Full History
Tarren Mill began as a human settlement within the broad agricultural lands of Hillsbrad, where roads and fields linked northern villages to the larger kingdoms of Lordaeron and Alterac. For generations those communities depended on a political order that could settle disputes, raise armies and protect travel. The Second War disturbed the region as the Alliance and Horde contested the approaches to the north. The subsequent peace did not repair every division among the human kingdoms.
The Third War destroyed the stability on which Hillsbrad depended. Lordaeron fell to the Scourge, and many who had lived under its crown died or were raised into undeath. Some eventually won freedom from the Lich King's will and became the Forsaken under Sylvanas Windrunner. Their emergence altered the struggle for territory around the ruined northern kingdom, because former subjects of Lordaeron had become a people rejected by many of the living.
Tarren Mill came to stand at that fracture. Human settlement, war and the rise of the Forsaken all shaped the valley's loyalties. Its history reflects the larger northern tragedy: the collapse of one kingdom left several communities claiming the same land for reasons rooted in their different experiences of its destruction.
