Full History

The Wyrmbog became a threat to the Stonemaul ogres after the black dragonflight spread through southern Dustwallow Marsh. Onyxia's brood occupied the Dragonmurk and left eggs in the bog, making the area a breeding ground for creatures capable of overwhelming the surrounding settlements. The dragon's presence turned the marsh into more than a difficult wilderness: it became contested territory between a displaced clan and the servants of a dangerous ancient power.

The Stonemaul had already lost their former village and taken refuge at Brackenwall under the leadership of Mok'Morokk. Among them, Draz'Zilb understood that reclaiming their lands would be impossible while black dragon young continued to hatch nearby. His concern was not abstract hatred of dragons. Every new brood threatened to strengthen the forces occupying territory the ogres hoped to recover.

The Wyrmbog revealed how the consequences of Onyxia's influence reached far beyond her plots in Stormwind. The black dragonflight could unsettle an entire region simply by establishing nests. For the Stonemaul, the struggle over the bog became inseparable from their internal crisis of leadership and their hope of returning home.
