Full History

Skywall is the elemental realm of air, distinct from the ordinary lands of Azeroth. It became the refuge of Highborne dissidents who escaped the conflicts surrounding Eldre’Thalas.

Wind spirits sheltered these refugees and anchored their new island home. Across millennia the exiles developed a separate Skyborne identity, increasingly divided between those who trusted the spirits and those who wanted to recover and extend arcane knowledge.

The Forever story begins when those protectors disappear and the island’s supports begin to fail. Skywall thus links an elemental setting already known in Warcraft to a new political and religious crisis created specifically for Forever.
