Full History
The Darkspear trolls followed Thrall to Kalimdor after losing their island home to enemies from the sea. Their migration was more than a change of coast: it demanded that a wounded tribe find a way to survive among new allies without surrendering its identity. The New Horde offered protection, but it did not return the homeland the trolls had lost.
As the Darkspear established communities across Kalimdor, Shadowprey Village arose on the coast of Desolace. Its position kept the tribe near the sea that had long sustained its customs while placing it within reach of lands dominated by centaur clans. The settlement was one answer to the dangers of relying on a single refuge after the calamities of the Darkspear Islands and the Echo Isles.
Shadowprey's history therefore belongs to the rebuilding of a people rather than to the founding of a great kingdom. In the shadow of repeated displacement, the Darkspear created another place from which their hunters, fishers and families could endure. Their allegiance to the Horde remained, but so did the memory of what had driven them there.
