Full History
Raven Hill grew as a human settlement in the forests once known as Brightwood, south of Stormwind. Its households and farms belonged to the ordinary life of a kingdom repeatedly shaken by war. The dead rested in a cemetery beyond the village, where generations had been buried before anyone feared that graves might become a danger to the living. Nothing in the town's beginnings prepared its people for the corruption that later overtook the woodland.
As darkness settled over the region, the old roads grew unsafe and the boundary between life and death became uncertain. Necromancy and restless spirits spread through the burial grounds. The work of Morbent Fel deepened the fear around the ruined village, and survivors carried stories of disturbances that could no longer be explained as mere banditry. Jitters, haunted by what he had encountered, helped preserve the rumors surrounding the mysterious Scythe of Elune.
The village's abandonment was one part of the wider collapse of safety in Duskwood. Where people had once sought land and livelihood, they faced enemies raised from their own past. Raven Hill became a warning that the darkness of the forest was not only a threat from outside the kingdom; it could turn the memory of a settlement against those who remained.
