Full History

Southwind Village was an outpost of night elves in Silithus, far from the principal forests of their civilization. Its ruin is associated with the spread of silithid and the ancient struggle against the qiraji.

The War of the Shifting Sands left the southern deserts scarred and burdened the night elves with guarding threats that had once nearly overwhelmed them. The damaged village recalls the high human and night-elven costs of those struggles.

Southwind marks how the silithid could destroy even small settlements beyond the fortified ruins of Ahn’Qiraj. The history of the region cannot be told entirely through armies and sealed gates; it also includes communities that did not survive.
