Full History
The Blackrock clan became one of the most powerful forces in the old Horde. On Draenor, its warriors followed Blackhand as Gul'dan's Shadow Council built an army for conquest. The clan's prominence helped carry the Horde through the Dark Portal and into the First War against Stormwind. Blackhand held the title of warchief, but the power behind his command lay with advisers whose plans reached far beyond his clan.
Orgrim Doomhammer overthrew Blackhand after learning of Gul'dan's treachery and took command of the Horde. Under Orgrim, the armies pressed into the Second War, threatening the human kingdoms of the north and Khaz Modan. The clan's identity became inseparable from the politics of the Horde itself, as its leaders struggled to control competing warlocks and rival chieftains.
Defeat broke the old Horde's advance, leaving its survivors scattered or imprisoned. Blackrock forces retained positions within Blackrock Mountain, where later conflicts crossed the history of the Dark Iron dwarves and the dragons. The clan's rise and decline followed the Horde from the ambition to conquer Azeroth to the fragmentation that made Thrall's different vision possible.
