Full History

Durotan and Orgrim Doomhammer knew one another before the Horde's invasion brought their peoples into war with Azeroth. Their friendship belonged to a Draenor of separate clans, traditions, and loyalties that the later demonic pact would transform. That earlier bond mattered when both men confronted the consequences of Gul'dan's power. Their choices would eventually separate duty to the Horde from loyalty to the warlocks who claimed to guide it.

Durotan led the Frostwolf clan and resisted the full surrender of orcish identity to demonic influence. Orgrim, associated with the Blackrock clan and later rising to warchief, came from a different position within the growing Horde. Their friendship survived political dangers even as the clans were pushed toward campaigns driven by corrupted leaders. The ability to recognize an ally across those divisions became especially important after the first invasion of Azeroth.

Durotan's warning about Gul'dan and the Shadow Council cost him his life, and his son Thrall was left without his parents. Orgrim would later become a vital link to the older Horde when Thrall sought his ancestry and a different future for the orcs. The friendship is therefore not a private anecdote detached from history. It connects the last years of the clans' independence to the effort to recover honor after the wars.
