Quick Overview
Durotan and Draka became partners among the Frostwolf orcs before their clan's exile from the Horde. Their union brought into the world the child later known as Thrall. The parents' rejection of demonic corruption and their deaths made their son both the survivor of a destroyed family and the eventual restorer of an orcish tradition.
Full History
The Frostwolf clan preserved traditions that its chieftain Durotan believed were being threatened by the rise of Gul'dan and demonic influence. Draka became Durotan's partner during those years of increasing peril. Their lives belonged to a clan society in which kinship, ancestral memory, and the responsibilities of leadership mattered alongside war. The bond between them took on wider significance only because of the extraordinary events that followed.
As the orcish clans were drawn into the Horde, Durotan opposed the surrender of their older identity to the power of Mannoroth's blood. The Frostwolves' refusal placed them at odds with the dominant warlock leadership. Their clan was exiled from the Horde, and Durotan and Draka became parents while living under the consequences of that decision. The child they called Go'el would not grow up surrounded by the community his father had tried to protect.
Durotan and Draka were murdered, leaving their infant exposed and alone. The human Aedelas Blackmoore found him and brought him into captivity, where he became known as Thrall. His upbringing was shaped by the human world and by Blackmoore's ambition to use him, rather than by the Frostwolf home and family he had lost. That rupture defined much of his early life.
When Thrall later sought the Frostwolves and learned the history of his parents, their choices became a guide to the kind of leader he could become. His restoration of shamanic practice and rejection of the demonic legacy of the Old Horde did not reverse their deaths, but it carried forward the values for which they had been punished. Durotan and Draka matter to Azeroth's history not simply as the parents of a famous warchief, but as figures whose resistance gave the New Horde an older tradition to recover.
