Argent Officer Pureheart served the Argent Dawn in the Western Plaguelands, where the undead still threatened roads and settlements. The order brought together volunteers from peoples who otherwise stood on opposite sides of old wars. Unlike the Scarlet Crusade, the Dawn sought allies wherever the will to resist the Scourge could be found. Pureheart's post reflected that difficult, persistent defense of a devastated land.

The Scourge, Forsaken, Scarlet Crusade, and Argent Dawn operate across the diseased north. An inter-faction order resists the undead in the former northern kingdoms. The western Argent camp is a staging ground against the undead and plague. The old northern kingdoms remain scarred by Scourge rule. No later Naxxramas invasion or raid outcome is presumed. An independent anti-Scourge order gathers allies across racial and faction lines. An orcish Dawn officer is a potential guide for players approaching the western Plaguelands.
