Full History
The Bulwark stood where Tirisfal gave way to the Western Plaguelands, marking an uneasy border between the Forsaken's homeland and lands held by the Scourge. Argent Dawn personnel stationed there watched the road into the infected west. The outpost's importance came from its position: anyone moving east from the ruins of Lordaeron confronted the surviving devastation of the plague. The Dawn made that threshold a place of resistance.
Tirisfal had once belonged to the northern human kingdom, but the fall of Lordaeron altered every neighboring territory. Sylvanas's Forsaken occupied the capital's ruins and held nearby lands while hostile undead continued to haunt the countryside beyond. The Bulwark placed a neutral order on that frontier, close to Horde approaches yet devoted to a campaign larger than either political faction. Its officers could meet travelers whose reasons for opposing the Scourge differed greatly.
The original game shows an active post rather than a monument to a finished victory. Argent recruitment and the commissions given to willing fighters make the border a living point of conflict. It is unnecessary to assume that every adventurer accepted the call or that the Plaguelands were eventually cleared. The history belongs to the moment when holding the approach and sustaining volunteers were achievements in themselves.
