Quick Overview

Ysera's green dragonflight guarded the natural world and the Emerald Dream. Its ancient charge helped tie the Aspects to the night elves' druidic traditions after the War of the Ancients. As generations passed in the waking world, the green dragons remained closely bound to the health of the forests and the hidden Dream.

Full History

When the dragon Aspects were entrusted with responsibilities for Azeroth, Ysera's work lay with living nature and the Emerald Dream. The greens' purpose differed from the red flight's defense of life or the blues' guardianship of magic. They watched a realm of growth, renewal, and deep natural patterns that many mortals never saw directly.

The War of the Ancients reshaped that duty. The Sundering broke the old world, and the night elves who survived turned away from the reckless arcane empire that had invited the Legion. Malfurion Stormrage's druids learned to honor the balances of nature, and their long journeys into the Dream brought them closer to Ysera's realm.

At Nordrassil, the Aspects' blessings bound the new world tree to the future of the night elves. Many druids later slept for long periods while their spirits moved in the Dream, leaving the Sentinels to guard their people in the waking forests. The green dragonflight stood at the heart of that spiritual connection, its ancient charge continuing beyond the rise and fall of mortal kingdoms.
