Quick Overview
The quilboar remembered the ancient boar spirit Agamaggan, who fought the Burning Legion in the War of the Ancients. Long afterward, their tribes defended territory and sacred places across the Barrens and neighboring lands. As the Horde and tauren established new homes in Kalimdor, competing claims to land deepened an already bitter frontier struggle.
Full History
The quilboar trace their heritage to the ancient boar spirit Agamaggan, who stood among the defenders of Kalimdor during the War of the Ancients. His sacrifice against the Burning Legion became a lasting part of their identity. Generations later, the quilboar maintained their own tribal territories and sacred traditions across the Barrens and nearby lands.
Their history crossed that of the tauren long before the New Horde settled in Kalimdor. Both peoples sought safety, resources, and ground on which their communities could endure. After Thrall's orcs joined Cairne Bloodhoof and the tauren established Mulgore, the new pattern of settlements and travel brought more friction with nearby quilboar tribes, including the Bristlebacks and Razormane.
The quarrels were rooted in competing claims to land rather than one single war or chieftain. The quilboar remembered their ancient guardian and defended places they considered their own; the newcomers remembered years of displacement and sought secure homes. The result was a troubled frontier in which each people carried a different history into the same disputed country.
