Quick Overview
Quilboar communities spread across parts of Kalimdor, where their territorial struggles frequently brought them into conflict with neighbors. Cairne's tauren had gained relief from centaur assaults through alliance with Thrall, but they still faced localized threats near Camp Narache. The early record should not transform every quilboar band into a single kingdom with an invented political history.
Full History
Quilboar communities spread across parts of Kalimdor, where their territorial struggles frequently brought them into conflict with neighbors. Around the tauren settlements of Mulgore, Bristleback groups threatened hunting lands and young defenders. Elsewhere, their guarded strongholds testified to longer-standing communities. Their presence is one of the reasons the New Horde's western homeland could not be regarded as empty land awaiting settlement.
The original world shows quilboar as fiercely protective of their holdings, with separate groups occupying different regions and confronting different opponents. Cairne's tauren had gained relief from centaur assaults through alliance with Thrall, but they still faced localized threats near Camp Narache. The rites of young tauren defenders were therefore shaped partly by the need to face quilboar encroachment. These encounters were smaller than the great wars of the orcs and humans but immediate to the communities involved.
The early record should not transform every quilboar band into a single kingdom with an invented political history. It establishes settlements, hostility, and pressure upon nearby peoples. A historical account preserves those limits while recognizing that recurring local conflicts have their own significance in a world otherwise remembered for the campaigns of kings and demons.
