Full History
The Bristleback quilboar belong to a people whose traditions reach back to the great boar spirit Agamaggan. During the War of the Ancients, Agamaggan fought against the Burning Legion and fell in defense of the world. The quilboar came to revere that sacrifice, and their settlements spread through parts of Kalimdor where other peoples would later make their homes.
The arrival of the New Horde and the settling of tauren families in Mulgore changed the balance around the Barrens. Quilboar tribes held territory that the newcomers sought to cross or defend, and encounters could quickly become violent. The Bristlebacks were among those who resisted the expansion of neighboring communities into lands they regarded as their own.
Their conflicts cannot be explained simply as raids without a past. The quilboar carried their own memory of ancestral strength, sacred places, and bitter rivalry with other peoples. The Bristlebacks' struggles with tauren and orcs grew out of that deeper history, even as the new alliances in Kalimdor made old disputes more difficult to settle.
