Full History
The Revantusk are forest trolls whose home lies along the coast of the Hinterlands, far from the larger strongholds of the Amani and Vilebranch. The tribes of the old forest troll world had not all followed the same path after the wars against humans and elves. Some accepted Orgrim Doomhammer's alliance during the Second War, while others returned to older rivalries after the Horde was defeated.
The Revantusk survived among stronger neighbors, particularly the Vilebranch trolls who held Jintha'Alor and treated smaller tribes as enemies. That pressure gave the coastal settlement a history of endurance rather than conquest. When the New Horde arose under Thrall, the Revantusk found a possible ally despite the bitter memory of other troll tribes' dealings with orcs.
Their friendship with the Horde distinguished them from forest trolls who remained hostile to outsiders. It also placed them beside the Darkspear, a jungle troll people with very different origins and customs. The Hinterlands remained contested among forest trolls, Wildhammer dwarves, and smaller communities. The Revantusk's significance lies in choosing cooperation while much of their wider troll kinship remained divided by old grievances and ambitions.
