Full History
Hamuul Runetotem had been a friend of Cairne Bloodhoof since childhood, sharing the uncertainties of tauren life before the tribes found safety in Mulgore. When the Burning Legion threatened Kalimdor, Hamuul encountered Malfurion Stormrage and discovered a path of nature magic that had scarcely been practiced among the tauren for many generations.
Malfurion taught him the disciplines of druidism, and Hamuul's learning won him a place within the Cenarion Circle. That was no small achievement. The Circle had long been associated with the night elves, whose political loyalties differed sharply from those of Cairne's new allies. Hamuul demonstrated that reverence for the living world could bind its guardians across factional divisions.
Returning to the tauren, he taught others to follow the same path. His work did not replace the shamanic traditions of the Earth Mother; it gave his people another means of honoring the natural world. In Thunder Bluff he stood beside Cairne as a trusted elder, joining the experience of an old friend with the perspective of a druid who had seen how much the world's peoples could learn from one another.
