Full History
Hamuul Runetotem had known Cairne Bloodhoof since their youth, long before Thunder Bluff was raised above Mulgore. His path, however, led him toward a calling little practiced among the tauren of his generation. During the struggle against the Burning Legion, Hamuul befriended Malfurion Stormrage, the night elf druid whose mastery of nature had helped preserve the world.
Malfurion taught Hamuul the secrets of druidism and the responsibilities that accompanied them. The lessons returned a nearly forgotten discipline to tauren life, joining reverence for the Earth Mother with a deeper understanding of the living world. Hamuul became an honored member of the Cenarion Circle, a remarkable bridge between peoples whose political allegiances were often opposed.
When Cairne gathered the tribes in Thunder Bluff, Hamuul carried that learning into the new homeland. His students could follow a druidic path without abandoning their own traditions, and the tauren acquired a voice within a circle long associated with night elves. His work showed that the war against the Legion had produced more than new alliances of necessity: it had reopened an ancient relationship between people and nature.
