Full History
Thunder Bluff began as a refuge. Cairne Bloodhoof had secured Mulgore after years of centaur harassment and called scattered tauren tribes toward the great mesas. What first mattered was the safety of families and herds, and the promise that wandering bands could finally gather without expecting to be driven onward.
A permanent home soon demanded more than watchfires and warriors. Hunters brought food and knowledge of the plains; artisans shaped tools and shelters; elders taught the customs that had traveled with the tribes through hardship. Shamans maintained their devotion to the Earth Mother while druids such as Hamuul Runetotem deepened ties with the Cenarion Circle. Merchants and travelers arrived as Thunder Bluff became a place where goods and news could pass between communities.
That growth was part of Cairne's larger political accomplishment. The tauren's survival had depended on mobility, but their future now depended upon sustaining a common center without erasing the traditions of its people. Thunder Bluff's importance grew from this change: it allowed a once-displaced society to choose what it wished to preserve and what it could build anew.
