Quick Overview
Hamuul Runetotem came under the influence of Malfurion Stormrage during the Third War and learned from the night elves' druidic tradition. His teaching helped restore druidism among the tauren. The connection also created a spiritual bridge between peoples that had recently met as allies against the Burning Legion.
Full History
When the Burning Legion threatened the world, the old boundaries between Kalimdor's peoples became impossible to maintain. Night elves, orcs, humans, and tauren found common cause in the effort to hold Mount Hyjal. Among the tauren was Hamuul Runetotem, whose understanding of the Earth Mother drew him toward the ways of the druids.
Malfurion Stormrage's teachings offered Hamuul a tradition centered on the living world's cycles and the careful use of natural power. Hamuul carried that learning back to his own people. The tauren did not become night elves by embracing druidism; they interpreted its obligations through the spiritual life they already knew.
His place within the Cenarion Circle helped sustain contact between tauren and night elven druids after the Legion's defeat. Their nations did not always stand on the same side of other conflicts, but the duty to guard nature provided a reason for the order to reach across those divisions.
