Full History

Cho'gall rose within the old Horde as an ogre-mage and a disciple of the Shadow Council. Gul'dan's secret order pursued demonic power behind the armies of the warchiefs, and Cho'gall served its ambitions with magic and cunning. His two heads belonged to a creature whose abilities already set him apart from the ordinary ogres recruited into the Horde.

When Orgrim Doomhammer took power and struck against Gul'dan's influence, the Shadow Council was devastated. Gul'dan later betrayed the Horde during the Second War by taking forces away from the central campaign in search of the Tomb of Sargeras. Cho'gall's Twilight's Hammer clan was among those drawn into that reckless expedition, abandoning the war at a moment when Doomhammer needed every army.

The effort to seize power from the tomb ended in disaster. Gul'dan's ambition cost the Horde dearly, and his followers suffered the consequences of their master's betrayal. Cho'gall's early history is inseparable from that collapse: a sorcerer who had placed allegiance to the Shadow Council and forbidden power above the fate of the army he supposedly served.
