Quick Overview
The Twilight's Hammer followed Cho'gall into the Horde's wars with a devotion to ruin rather than conquest alone. Its fanatical warriors saw devastation as an end in itself. When Gul'dan deserted the campaign to seek the Tomb of Sargeras, Cho'gall and his clan followed him.
Full History
Cho'gall commanded the Twilight's Hammer during the Horde's invasion of Azeroth. Unlike clans intent chiefly on territorial victory, his followers celebrated destruction as sacred. That devotion made them formidable auxiliaries within the old Horde, but their loyalty ran through Cho'gall and Gul'dan rather than through the warchief alone.
During the Second War, Cho'gall worked closely with Gul'dan, the warlock whose secret ambitions repeatedly threatened the Horde's unity. As the Alliance and Horde fought for the northern kingdoms, Gul'dan abandoned the main campaign to pursue the Tomb of Sargeras. The Twilight's Hammer departed with him, joining the Stormreaver clan in the search.
The desertion cost the Horde warriors during a critical stage of the war and exposed the fracture between its military command and the Shadow Council's ambitions. The Twilight's Hammer had fought beside other clans, but its apocalyptic beliefs and devotion to its own leaders led it away from the war they were supposed to win.
