Quick Overview
Kurdran Wildhammer and his gryphon Sky'rie carried the Wildhammer clans' fight against the Horde into the air. Their raids against dragon-mounted enemies became an emblem of dwarven courage. Kurdran later joined the Sons of Lothar on the expedition through the Dark Portal, risking his life beyond Azeroth.
Full History
The Wildhammer dwarves had left Grim Batol for the open reaches of the Hinterlands long before the Second War. Their bond with gryphons made them unlike the mountain-dwelling Bronzebeards, and it gave the Alliance an answer to a threat few ordinary soldiers could face: the Horde's dragon riders. Kurdran Wildhammer and his gryphon Sky'rie gained a fearsome reputation battling enemies in the skies.
A gryphon rider had to close with foes who could strike from above and burn armies below. The Wildhammers' Stormhammers and daring aerial assaults made them invaluable to the Alliance, even when the odds were terrible. Kurdran's exploits earned him a place among the champions trusted for the war's most difficult tasks.
When a new invasion threatened Azeroth from Draenor, Kurdran joined the Sons of Lothar in pursuing the Horde through the Dark Portal. His journey carried the Wildhammer tradition beyond the skies of his homeland. The expedition's ultimate fate left its members separated from the kingdom they had helped defend.
