Full History

The Sons of Lothar crossed the Dark Portal to confront the renewed danger coming from Draenor. Their expedition brought together veterans and leaders determined not to allow another invasion to devastate Azeroth. The struggle became a mission fought on unfamiliar ground, far beyond the kingdoms whose safety they sought. By the time the portals were closed, the expedition had been separated from home.

Turalyon, Khadgar, Alleria, Kurdran, and Danath were among the names associated with the campaign. Each had ties to the wars that followed Stormwind's fall and the Alliance's victory over Orgrim's Horde. On Draenor they faced orcish forces under Ner'zhul, whose efforts to open new gateways placed the world itself at risk. Their purpose was not territorial conquest but the prevention of another catastrophe crossing into Azeroth.

The final collapse forced Khadgar to close the Dark Portal even though it left his companions beyond reach. The decision preserved the world behind them at the price of their own return. Later generations remembered the expedition as missing or lost, without knowing every detail of what had become of those stranded. Their story carries the cost of victory when soldiers must save a homeland they may never see again.
