Kurdran Wildhammer crossed the Dark Portal as part of the Alliance expedition sent to confront the Horde's renewed threat on Draenor. The celebrated gryphon rider brought aerial experience to the Sons of Lothar. His service carried the Wildhammers beyond the defense of their own forests and mountains into a campaign on another world.
The Alliance had defeated the Horde in the Second War, but Ner'zhul's plans to open new gateways threatened to renew the danger. Turalyon and other commanders assembled a force to pursue that threat at its source. Kurdran's experience against dragons and his bond with Sky'rie made him an important member of a diverse expedition. Human paladins, mages, rangers, and dwarven fighters served together because no single kingdom could address the crisis alone.
The expedition confronted the destruction of Draenor as Ner'zhul's portals tore the world apart. Kurdran's participation is remembered as part of the Sons of Lothar's sacrifice and endurance beyond the Dark Portal. It demonstrates the Alliance's ability to draw leaders from many peoples into a mission whose consequences reached far beyond the Eastern Kingdoms.
