The Last Guardian

Full History

Medivh was born to the Guardian Aegwynn, inherited extraordinary power, and became the means by which the orcish Horde entered Azeroth. Friends at Stormwind knew him as a gifted mage, but the hidden influence of Sargeras made the Guardian a danger to the world he was meant to defend. His life connected the secret history of demonic intrusion to the First War. The title of Guardian could no longer guarantee safety.

Aegwynn had once defeated Sargeras's avatar and believed the threat contained. Instead, the spirit's influence shadowed her son's life. Medivh's later actions helped open the Dark Portal with Gul'dan's cooperation, granting the orcs entry to Stormwind's kingdom. The growing danger drew the attention of Khadgar, Garona, and Anduin Lothar, who confronted the corruption at Karazhan. Medivh's fall did not reverse the breach between worlds or save Stormwind from the war already underway.

He would eventually return as a prophet before the Third War, warning leaders of the Burning Legion's renewed approach. That later intervention cannot erase his role in the first invasion. Medivh's history remains divided between the consequences of power abused and the struggle to avert another catastrophe. In him, Azeroth's secret defenders and its greatest hidden enemy had once occupied the same life.
