Quick Overview

Akama's alliance with Illidan arose in the struggle to end Magtheridon's rule over Outland. The elder sage's draenei had been hunted by fel orcs while Illidan's blood elves and naga sought to break the enemy's portals. Together, they closed the gateways that delivered demonic reinforcements and approached the Black Citadel. The chapter explains how distinct peoples, driven by very different losses, found common cause against a pit lord.

Full History

Outland's shattered landscape left old communities exposed to whichever armies could claim the surviving fortresses. Magtheridon ruled over many fel orcs and demons and reinforced his forces through dimensional gateways. Akama's draenei could do little to resist that power alone. Illidan's arrival changed the balance, since Kael'thas and Lady Vashj commanded troops that could confront the demon's soldiers directly.

Akama entered the coalition after the newcomers aided his village against fel orc attackers. His followers did not abandon their own concerns; the bargain offered hope that the oppression destroying their community could be ended. Illidan meanwhile needed to close the gateways before his enemies became impossible to isolate. The blood elves and naga guarded him through the operation, and the draenei provided mobility and knowledge of the land.

When the final passages were shut, the coalition approached the Black Citadel, where Magtheridon remained behind strong defenses. Akama's fighters could pass guards to strike crucial machinery; Kael'thas and Vashj handled the main fighting. This stage of the campaign demonstrates the different contributions of the allies without treating their interests as identical.

The historical boundary is the Warcraft III: The Frozen Throne Blood Elf campaign. Akama's status, the gateways, and the siege stand on their original mission accounts, while later developments are outside the chapter.
