Quick Overview
Rexxar's arrival in Durotar began with a dying messenger, not a summons from the warchief. He carried Mogrin's warning to Thrall and soon worked with Rokhan to protect the new Horde's vulnerable settlements. His service drew him into the conflict that threatened to undo the peace in Kalimdor.
Full History
The half-ogre wanderer Rexxar had long kept apart from the wars of great armies. While traveling in Kalimdor, he encountered Mogrin, an orc courier mortally wounded before he could complete his journey. Rexxar took the message and brought it to Thrall at the young Horde's settlement, refusing to let the dead orc's purpose be lost.
Thrall entrusted the newcomer with work beyond a simple delivery. Alongside the Darkspear scout Rokhan, Rexxar moved among outposts threatened by raids and rival forces. Their efforts showed how unfinished the founding of Durotar remained. The orcs had escaped internment and crossed the sea, but their new home still required allies, supplies, and the ability to withstand enemies nearby.
As tensions rose between the Horde and the human forces of Theramore, Rexxar became one of Thrall's trusted agents. His deeds helped protect the settlement through the crisis that culminated in Daelin Proudmoore's campaign. A traveler who had wanted distance from the old Horde's savagery had found a place in the struggle to establish a different one.
