Full History
The fall of Stormwind in the First War made refugees of a kingdom that had once expected its walls to protect it. King Llane died, and Anduin Lothar led survivors north to seek the aid of Lordaeron. Their loss turned the threat of the orcish Horde from a distant report into a danger the northern kings could no longer ignore.
King Terenas helped form the Alliance of Lordaeron, bringing human kingdoms together with dwarves and high elves for the Second War. Victory returned the southern kingdom to its people, but it did not erase the political disagreements of the alliance or the costs of rebuilding. A generation later Lordaeron faced a new catastrophe: plague, the Scourge and Prince Arthas's betrayal of his father.
The two kingdoms came to represent opposite turns in human history. Stormwind endured destruction and reconstruction, while Lordaeron's royal order fell apart from within during the Third War. The survivors inherited not one unbroken tradition of triumph, but generations shaped by exile, uneasy cooperation and the ruin of institutions they had trusted.
