Full History
Lord Maxwell Tyrosus helped sustain the struggle against the Scourge after the fall of Lordaeron. The undead had destroyed towns, broken the old order of paladins, and forced survivors to choose how they would resist. Some joined the Scarlet Crusade and embraced its fierce suspicion of outsiders. Others believed the plague could not be defeated by turning every stranger into an enemy.
Tyrosus became a leading voice of the Argent Dawn, which fought the undead while accepting allies beyond the divisions of Horde and Alliance. From Light's Hope Chapel in the Eastern Plaguelands, its members worked to hold a place for the living amid lands devastated by plague and war. The chapel offered more than a fortified refuge: it gathered people who still believed cooperation was possible.
His leadership helped give that belief a lasting organization. The Argent Dawn was not free of danger or loss, but its willingness to recruit across racial and political lines set it apart from the Scarlet Crusade. Tyrosus defended a different answer to Lordaeron's catastrophe: that survival required vigilance against the Scourge without abandoning the living peoples whom the order hoped to save.
