After the Dark Iron threat, the Bronzebeards and Wildhammers restored limited contact despite the grievances that had driven them apart. Trade and communication resumed between Ironforge and the Wildhammer settlements, allowing the two clans to recognize their continuing kinship. The rapprochement did not reunite them beneath a single king or erase their separate histories.
The war among the clans had left heavy damage. The Bronzebeards retained Ironforge, but the Wildhammers lost Grim Batol to the effects of Modgud's assault and ultimately found another home in the Hinterlands. Both had faced Dark Iron aggression, giving them reasons to rebuild relations that went beyond nostalgia for Anvilmar's kingdom. Cooperation could make travel and commerce safer while preserving the independence each people had fought to maintain.
Their restored ties later found expression in shared routes and structures such as the Thandol Span. The connection is important to the original eastern kingdoms because it explains why the dwarves are neither a wholly united people nor three permanently isolated enemies. History left lasting divisions, yet practical friendship endured between the Bronzebeards and Wildhammers.
