Full History
Rexxar helped Cairne Bloodhoof recover his son Baine during the early campaign to defend Thrall's Horde. The rescue joined the safety of one family to the stability of a wider alliance between tauren and orcs. Cairne's trust in his companions deepened because they aided his people when help was urgently needed.
The tauren had encountered Thrall while fleeing centaur pressure through the Barrens. The orcs' assistance had begun a partnership that would give the tauren hope of settling Mulgore and the orcs reliable allies in Kalimdor. Baine's danger renewed the personal cost of that insecurity. Rexxar, already serving Thrall's settlement, joined the effort to recover the young tauren rather than leaving the matter to Cairne alone.
The successful rescue strengthened the bonds later reflected in Thunder Bluff's place within the Horde. It did not end every threat facing the tauren or settle the objections of tribes with different political views. The event is a reminder that the Horde's founding rested on repeated acts of mutual assistance, not only on formal decisions made by chiefs.
