Quick Overview
The bronze dragonflight follows Nozdormu, the Timeless One, and is associated with safeguarding the flow of time. It is one of the original five Dragonflights entrusted with the protection of Azeroth. Its members are concerned with the continuity of history rather than the boundaries of mortal nations. In the original world, Tanaris and the Caverns of Time are among the clearest places connected with its mysterious duty.
Full History
The bronze dragons are part of the ancient order of Dragonflights entrusted with responsibilities that reach beyond ordinary warfare. The red flight cares for life, the green for nature and dreams, the blue for magic, and the black was originally tied to the earth. Nozdormu's bronze flight was distinguished by its relationship to time.
An organization concerned with history faces threats that are difficult for mortal observers to understand. Kingdoms rise and fall, and commanders usually see only the struggles of their own era. The bronze flight watches the continuity of events on a far larger scale. This does not mean that the original world openly explained every possible future; much of the dragons' work was distant and mysterious.
The Caverns of Time beneath Tanaris offer a geographic anchor for these ideas in early Azeroth. Their association with bronze dragons sets the desert apart from its more immediate Sandfury, goblin, and pirate struggles. Players can encounter the place as a historical mystery without retroactively importing later dungeon campaigns or outcomes.
The bronze flight should therefore be understood as part of the ancient guardianship of Azeroth. Its history runs beside that of the other Aspects, whose decisions shaped the War of the Ancients and the later wars of mortals, but its particular concern is the stability of the world's unfolding history.
