Full History
Zuluhed led the Dragonmaw clan during the Second War, commanding a smaller but formidable part of the Horde. The promise of dragon-riders offered a way to give the orcish armies an advantage no ordinary cavalry could match. Under his leadership, the clan recovered an ancient artifact that had once belonged to the Dragon Aspects.
The object came to be called the Demon Soul. Zuluhed entrusted its use to the warlock Nekros Skullcrusher, whose mastery of its power enabled the Dragonmaw to hold Alexstrasza captive at Grim Batol. With the Dragonqueen under their control, the orcs forced red dragons into service. Their victories in the air rested upon the suffering of beings whose strength reached back to the earliest ages of Azeroth.
Zuluhed's choice entangled his clan with a weapon created through Neltharion's betrayal. The Dragonmaw became feared for its mastery of dragons, but its power was founded on bondage and could endure only while the artifact worked. When the Demon Soul was eventually destroyed, the clan lost the means by which it had controlled Alexstrasza's flight, and the terror of its dragon-riders began to recede.
