Full History
Fenris became known as a fighting chieftain who believed the defeated Horde still had opportunities for conquest. He led the Thunderlord clan, a house noted for its connections with the Blackrock and Lightning’s Blade. The remaining wolfriders under his command gave his followers speed and an identity distinct from the infantry-heavy armies familiar to the human kingdoms. He was eager to regain the initiative, even though the power that had once united the Horde had already fractured.
The leadership of Draenor had shifted to Ner’zhul, whose Shadowmoon clan attempted to draw the surviving orc factions into a new offensive. For Fenris, that campaign offered a chance to prove his warriors against human opponents. For Ner’zhul, the clans were instruments in an increasingly desperate plan to seize powerful artifacts and open portals to worlds beyond Azeroth. Those two motives could briefly coexist, but they were not identical.
Fenris was one of the chieftains seeking glory during the Horde’s last great campaign on its homeworld. He is a chieftain of the interwar political landscape, when survival, prestige, and ambition drove clan leaders into the final great campaign on their homeworld. His entry connects the Thunderlords, the Shadowmoon, and the wider consequences of the Dark Portal’s reopening.
