Quick Overview
Lightning's Blade was an orc clan connected to the Thunderlords during the last great campaigns on Draenor. Few details of its own leadership survived the destruction that followed Ner'zhul's plans. Its known allies place it within the fragmented Horde that struggled for power after the Second War.
Full History
Few chronicles preserve the deeds of Lightning’s Blade beyond its alliance with the Thunderlords. Lightning’s Blade belonged to the Thunderlord clan’s circle of allies, though few details of its own leadership have survived. Its place among the clans Ner’zhul sought to command reflects how kinship and obligation extended beyond the better-known Blackrock, Warsong, and Frostwolf houses.
It would be tempting to supply the clan with a thunder ritual, a named chieftain, or a detailed account of its campaigns. No reliable history names the clan’s chief or describes a distinct rite of initiation. Lightning’s Blade formed part of a network of alliances whose military importance survived the Horde’s losses in Azeroth. The clan’s own battles and losses remain obscure behind the greater campaigns of its allies.
Lightning’s Blade was drawn into the turbulent affairs surrounding Fenris the Hunter, the Thunderlords, and Ner’zhul’s attempt to rebuild a Horde on Draenor. The rise of Ner’zhul and the Thunderlords gives Lightning’s Blade its historical setting, even where the clan’s independent deeds remain unknown. Its smaller scope is a consequence of documentary scarcity, not an invitation to fabricate a fuller legend.
